Default Mini Hardtop Brakes

My dealer wants $700 for front brakes and sensors. Can most brake places work on Coopers? I can't imagine I'd pay that much anywhere else.

are the brakes on metal-metal yet? other places should be able to work on your car but I would look for a Mini/BMW tech--> independent shop to do the work for you. Labor rates are generally cheaper.

Thanks, ucf3. I figured if someone is a Mini/BMW tech they are working for the dealers. I'll try googling someone else. The brakes were fine when I went into the shop. It was pouring rain for the hour+ drive over there, and when I came out, the brakes have been making some noise. I don't like to be paranoid, but that seems odd.

well, coming out of the rain could mean many things, but look specifically for BMW or Mini tech who have started their own shops now. They have access to the necessary tools and instruments to be your tech.

$700 is too much especially since i purchased a stoptech brake kit for $350 today.
