Mini power steering res

First hello. This is my first post but im sure not my last. I bought a 2007 mini cooper last week and am fixing a few things on it. The ps started to whine. After googleing for hours and looking around the engine bay i see no ps reservoir. The coolant expansion tank is located in front of the engine. I do not see the typical bmw style reservoir anywhere, where is this located? It is the naturally aspirated engine. Thanks for your help!

Also i should mention that there is zero mention of anything power steering related in the manual

Ok so i found that this car has a servo, probably why i could not find anything power steering related. Now does anyone have any idea what a whinr that sounds identical to a power steering pump could be?

Not sure if I am posting correctly new to the site but I have a 05 Cooper and it hesitates
when shifting between gears and when you rev the engine while idling. Any idea

The power steering in the R56 is entirely electric power assisted. They use fully "electric servo" power assisted steering with a motor geared direct to the steering rack with no hydraulics or fluid reservoir and less noise. Can you post a video of what you're hearing?

You'll want to start your own thread, but are there any fault codes in the system? Check all modules. When was the last time you replaced routine maintenance items?
