My MINI is killing fuel pumps! HELP me please!

I keep putting in new fuel pumps (a new filter too) and it will work for a day or two and then in the morning it won't start and the fuel pump is dead. The last mechanic (I've been to two and have spent $2000 already) said to try taking out the pump fuse at night to see if that keeps it from dying and I tried that last night (it was running fine yesterday after installing the 5th new pump) and this morning it wouldn't start. Turning but won't start. I checked the fuse and it was blown so I put in a new one, still wouldn't start and now that fuse is blown too. What's going on? Someone please help me! I still owe $9500 on this car!!

Call these guys; Bay Bridge Bimmers & Minis (510)208-3273, these guys know their stuff. Hope they can tell you what the problem is. Let me know what they say. Just in case I run into the same thing in the future.
