No BSD from alternator

No BSD from alternator
Got a 08 Mini Cooper S R56 1.6L N14 turbo abd Put on a new Vanos gear and now I'm getting codes 2E1C No BSD message from alternator. Probably unrelated but just incase. What's causing this. Alternator is a BOSCH AL0888N only 5 months old..
