Hello everyone. I'm new to these forums and MINIs in general, having just purchased my first one this weekend (2011 MINI S hardtop) and have a concern about the fuel in it.

I had the car delivered to my house by the dealer on Tuesday with a full tank of gas. Today my check engine light has come on (in yellow indicating that engine is not at full power) and I would assume this means that the dealer put regular fuel in it, though I'm not certain and when they called they were unsure what fuel was used but insisted that they always use premium. I'm wondering if my assumption sounds correct or if there could be another issue? The vehicle only has 22k miles on it so it is still under warranty.

Hi. How many tanks of gas have you put in it since? I would bring it back if the check engine light is on after a few tanks of 91 octane. Hope it works out for you. Peace n Mini's!
