Hopefully someone can help.

I have a 2003 mini cooper S, the engine packed up so i got a replacement engine, kept the original ecu and wiring etc, a friend of mine put the engine in for me.

Fault we are having is that the car cranks but it will not start, he believes there is no fuel supply or spark, he thought it was the cam position sensor so he swapped over the cam position sensor from the original motor and still no luck.

Anyone had this problem or able to help? Would it be ECU related ? Unsure as to whether with it being a different engine the ECU isn't firing it up for some reason. I am not a mechanic so not a clue.
