Radiator fan 2009 Cooper convertible

I have now replaced my second radiator fan. My mechanic says the fan will come on at the appropriate 210 degrees and will cool the engine but the fan never cuts off once it comes on. The only way to make it stop is to turn off the engine. Once the engines gets to 210, it's follows the same process. No wonder I am replacing fans. Is there a software update that allows the fan to disengage once the engine is cool?

If you have air pockets in the cooling system, it's quite possible that there is air where the temp sensor is located & causes the sensor to register a hot temp. Which tells the fan to cool the engine. If there is air in the system your heater may not work either. I'm sure there are other causes for your problem. However, this is a possibility.

Same problem on a 2009 hatchback...

YEP...Same problem here.
It is NOT air in the system. Changed the thermostat housing because of a leak. It did it before...It does it after.
The system was well bled after the housing change.
