Radio Removal
#2
i actually do but ill hafta find it first. i got an aux cable from a company i cant remmbmer now and they sent instructions that explained it very well.
here is what i remember.
tools you will need. 2 torx bits. T20 and T40 and a phillips head screwdriver. if available a tool for removing door panels will make parts of this easier.
alright now on either side of the radio we have those vertical pillars. each has two torx screws/bolts in them. on the pass. side they're easy to get to. just open the glovebox. the drivers side is more difficult, especially the first time you do it. first move your steering wheel all the way up. if you dont have the door panel tool to pry on this part your just going to have to reach your hand in under the steering column and pull like hell. the panel you're trying to remove is the one that sits at knee height right there under the steering column. that needs to drop down so you can get to the bolts on the drivers side.
once you have the two bolts off of each of these two pillars you basically lift them up and they kinda lean to either side and you will have access to the two phillips head screws that hold your car radio in place. once you take these out it slides right out.
maybe these instructions will help. if not i can find the instructions that i got with my aux cable and scan them and email them to you. This was for my 06 cooper S... im assuming the stereo setup is the same from 02-06
