Exclamation Removed Paddle Shifters and killed Cruise Control

I have a 2012 Roadster R-59, I removed the paddle shifters this weekend since I never use them on purpose and accidentally engage them frequently when cornering. I removed the airbag, unscrewed and unplugged the paddle shifters, put everything back together without the shifters, and no cruise control. None of the steering wheel media controls function any longer either. I get the warning notification about the cruise when starting the vehicle. Any suggestions how to regain cruise control and functionality of the media buttons - without having to reinstall the paddle shifters?? I never thought the two things would be connected!
