S or Regular?

RE: S or Regular?
Def a SC mini........On the one hand, a turbo is a great upgrade for a NA engine and it can produce alot of power......on the other....being the SC version is offered from Mini and JCW and Dinan products are available, you can build the SC way up and get good gains and still be covered under warrenty while the turbo upgrade would void it right away.

Thanks. I have listened to the SC only from the John Cooper works kit, so I have not heard a supercharger in real life. Anyway, I was just curious because I like the sound of a turbo a lot more than the whine of a SC.

Don't worry, you'll learn to love the whine of the Mini's charger. That thing is LOUD. If you really wanted to go turbo though, you could wait until 2007 for the turbo'd Mini to come out. And, I'm sure Dinan will be making plenty of turbo upgrades for that too.

There isn't anything directly from Mini about the 2007 Mini, but there have been many articles written about it from various websites and magazines that have direct contact with Mini.

The Cooper S supposedly has around 170, like it does now, but the JCW Cooper S has been rumored to have around 230. Turbochargers have a lot more room for expansion than superchargers do (think wastegates, BOV's, turbo timers, etc.), so aftermarket companies (such as Dinan) will probably be making a whole new batch of performance upgrades for the Mini.
