When I turned 44,700 my service engine liight came on, it went out at 44,800. Does anyone know what this means, I looked in the manual it said something about the exhaust. By the way 2005 Mini non S.

 

The CEL can be MANY MANY things , take it to Autozone/Advanced Autoparts and get the codes checked ... With the codes that will tell you what is wrong ... If the light went out after 5 key cycles it might have been a misfire

 

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the cam positioning sensor. $400.00 later no more light

 

Yesterday, the CEL lit on my 2005 non-S as well. It happened at approximately the same mileage. Also, the outside temperature reading is stuck at -40 degrees F.
