Default Service engine soon light

I have a 03 Mini (non S) My service engine light is on. My scanner gave me error code P2907. Post catalyst mixture too rich. Called the dealer in Memphis and they said it was the O2 sensor. So I ordered one (266.00) and installed it yesterday. My light still comes on and the scanner still says the same thing. I cannot seem to get the code to erase. Could I have another problem? The sensor was easy enough to install. Thanks.

Make sure your air filter is clean... I've heard of that causing a secondary O2 code.

Thank you for replying. My air filter is a K&N typhoon system installed about 3 months ago so its basically new. I am using an Actron Scanner (about 80 bucks) Do you think I need a better type of scanner to turn the light off or is something else causing the rich condition?
