Default Service, Repairs and a 2nd opinion?

I have an '07 Mini Cooper S w/ 76000 (highway) miles that I took in for my regular scheduled maintenance service.... The dealership tells me it is in need of some repairs, clutch, brakes, and a BUNCH of things "recommended" to the tune of $7200...this is after a $600 oil change/inspection!!
Is there a place in the San Jose/Monterey, CA Area that would be a reliable 2nd opinion? Maybe a more reasonable rate as well?

is your clutch acting UP? 600 dollars for an oil change? what in the world did they inspect?

That simply sounds insane.

I have a 5 sp manual saturn with 180K on the odo original clutch, my spyder has 53K no issues at all. If you are having no issues you need no clutch work. are they calling changing transaxil fluid clutch work LOL. Brakes if you have not had any service done thus far you could likely need new pads and resurfaced new rotors. Unless this car is somehow magically different from all other cars you are getting taken to the cleaners.

go somewhere else I would love to know what that 600 bucks actually got you.
