Squeeky clutch problem
 

So I am trying to help my friend out with her '05 cooper mini s with 43k on it, and don't know much about them... so looking for a little help!

The problem is that the clutch is making a loud squeeky noise when she lets it out, it was having the same problem before and had it replaced by the factory warranty. Now obviously the warranty is done so the problem came back, isn't that how it always is... Anyway what things should i look for / listen for to tell me exactly what the problem is and how should i go about fixing it?

This is probably basic knowledge but i'm really into paint, body, and interior work so don't know much mechanically about it. But I have all my tools, and really good and taking things apart and putting em back together, and am ready to get dirty!
