Supercharger
Alright, so I've encountered a problem on my 05 r53 mini. I bought the car 4k ago and the supercharger has never had a service done. It now has a rattle that I believe is a bearing. I was thinking about doing a full rebuild on the supercharger, but after more research it seems I would need access to certain tools. However, I've seen that select mercedes use an Eaton m45 also. Would a Mercedes m45 fit my mini assuming i would switch out the "snout" and any other components that are needed? Are they both the same internals? Any help would be appreciated!

I honestly have no idea and would probably assume it might not be something you can swap over, but you could try and give a MINI specialist shop a call and see what they say. I do know there are some shops that do rebuilds, so maybe do some research on that as well. (Check this site here). Otherwise, I'd suggest taking a look on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and seeing if you can find a used unit for a decent price. Just look at the mileage and when you get it, it might be smart to service it before you install it.

I used these guides here to replace my S/C with a rebuilt one. Got the rebuilt S/C from www.waymotorworks.com
