Default turn signals will not automatically return to off

Just bought a 2018 Countryman which is running fine but has a couple of issues I am trying to learn about.
One is that although the turn signals work fine they will not return automatically to off after completing turn.
I suspect it needs a new assembly in the column and am wondering if that is a job I might consider tackling or best left to a real mechanic.
I have not yet received a repair manual to consult.

Default Turn signal will not turn of after turn

I currently have the same issue with my mini, a r56.
Still looking into it, if you already found out what was wrong I would appreciate the help.

Good morning. I don’t really understand this reply form so I hope this works.
No fix yet here. Still suspecting that the whole unit on the steering column will need replacing but have not yet been willing to hire a shop to do it.
I can let you know of any progress.
