Its a 2007 convertible, from the VIN looks like engine code W10

From reading, I saw where in 2007 Mini changed to the DOHC engine. But then read somewhere except for 2007 convertibles. Looking at the top of the engine, it does not look like a DOHC but then there is allot of stuff on top so I can't be sure

When you open the hood do the headlights go up with the hood ?

If so you have the first gen engine

 

Convertibles where 1st gen through 2008 so you should have the 1st gen engine.

 

ok definitely have the first gen engine. Now is this engine considerd a R50 or R52?

 

Is it an S or not ?

 

standard engine not an S
