I am living in the USA but I will be returning to France this year.

To preprare the French registration process, I am asked to provide vehicule data, and in particular the engine number and type.

I have looked for the engine identification plate, but the accessibility is very limited. I have found the following data engraved on the engine:
A407I614
N12B16AB

Can anyone tell me if it is what I am looking for ? Or tell me where is supposed to be this engine identification plate ?

How did you get on with this? Any problems with certificate of conformity or homolgation of a US vehicle in the EU? I am trying to get this done in Spain for a vehicle originally from the US (via the UK). Engine number is usually on the rear of the engine block (stamped into block and also on a sticker with a barcode often).

Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated,
