windows issue
 

I'm new here, thought I'd try to get some help with an issue.

I've got a 2006 Mini Cooper S

My power windows have stopped working. 1st the passenger window a few weeks ago, then the driver side window a couple days ago. When I press the switches, I can still hear the nasally whirring of the window motors, but they don't go up or down. I can manually slide them up and down on the track, so I don't think they're stuck.

I've tried resetting them and I've tried the "banging just above the speaker" method with a rubber mallet, and still nothing. My regular mechanic (not a mini cooper mechanic) said it would be anywhere between $300-$500 per window to replace whatever might need replacing - the regulator and/or the motor- but I haven't taken it to the mini mechanics yet. They're always overpriced anyway.

did you ever get a fix for this because I am having the same problem
