Gauge face scratches

Just bought a 2009 MCS and I've noticed several vertical (ish) scratches on my tach gauge on the steering wheel.

You can't feel them with a fingernail or anything so they're not that deep.

Didn't know if anyone was able to somehow polish or wet sand (2000grit) them out?

Thanks.

I would try this on something other than your tach first but it should work.

Try wet sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper and then using a spray paint clearcoat.

ur best results would occur if u actually remove the tach and can do this outside of the car obviously.
be careful if you do try this as runs and drips can happen of you spray too heavy but if you go too light and dry texture could make it difficult to see thru.

I was thinking I'd treat it just like doing a headlight lens job. 2000 grit wet sand and Maquire's mag wheel polish to buff it.

I'll think on it. Thanks!

That's what I initially thought but I'm not sure how easy it would be to buff it out also I saw a new way of preventing ting our headlights from getting hazy or pitted using this sanding and clearcoat process. I'm interested to see how this works out for ya tho
