Hi, all. New guy with a 2005 Mini Cooper S. Bought it new:. Custom order, waited 6 months for delivery. Later toured Cambridge factory:. Recommend the tour.

Great car: love the supercharger. My wife's car... When she asks for a new Mini, I can honestly tell her that the factory only installed superchargers for 3 years, and she might not be satisfied with the turbo model.

Repairs incredibly expensive. Went in to dealer to get ' free' power steering pump, following recall,. balked at mandatory $ 700 hoses. Alternator replacement was $ 1500. I replaced brakes & rotors myself.

Currently having issues with door latches:. Usually takes 2 - 3 tugs to get driver side door open from inside. Have to pull door latch handle on passenger side to open door from inside - dash switch doesn't do it.

Occasionally can't get driver door to open from inside, and have to use key from outside. Darn annoying. What can I do about this ?
