2012 r56 no USB on Stereo

Default 2012 r56 no USB on Stereo
I've looked throught the threads, but I just bought my second Mini and I assumed that it would have a USB connection...but it doesn't. It has an aux in but no USB. Has anyone run accross this, and if so have you solved it?
