Another noob with a thousand familiar questions
Hi Everyone, In the market for a small/economical used car for my business that requires me to be on the road for about 20 hours/week. Sure I could get a lame civic, corolla, hyundai...but that's not me. So I started scrutinizing every little car out there when it dawned on me, Mini is the way to go! Our last handful of cars were BMW 535, Subie WRX, Discovery II, and now a LR3. So we tend to lean toward the enthusiast side of the spectrum, and a Mini fits the bill. Plus, cars that attract enthusiasts tend to be more properly cared for. Most people that own toyo/honda just beat on them, sort of defeating the manufacturers' intention of a reliable car.
So what I want to do is spend about $4-$6 k on a base, manual with somewhere around 90-120k miles. I'm okay with doing some of the maintenance or repairs that arise (know my way around a car and have a decent kit of tools). Obviously, I'll be looking for a solid maintenance history and an owner that acts like they care about the mini. The thing i need from you experts out there is what to look for in the models that'll fall in my price range, AND what to ask the sellers about them. Any years/models to avoid? Any years/models to pursue? Any visuals/sounds to watch out for? Any other tips and tricks you all can offer I would be much appreciative of. Can't wait to start our next car adventure!
Thanks in advance!
