Default Bout to pull head - coolant boiling

Hey everyone.

semi seasoned tech here but new to the mini world.

I need some input.

09’ clubman S 140k

Bought a few months back. Code for low boost. Threw a turbo in it. Then she overheated to 270.

put a coolant pump in it. (New one blew the weep hole due to overheating again).

I have a code for aux coolant pump. Going to replace it when I pull the head.

i put new thermostat assembly in it. Bled system and still have issues with reservoir boiling coolant.

i suspect im losing combustion pressure into cooling system. Haven’t verified but im trying to see why else this would be happening.

decent amount of blow by out the valve cover port. (PCV) flap is defective. Between that and dipstick tube I got a decent (pfuuush) when I move my finger off the dipstick tube.

anything I should be aware of before I tear into this bitch?

will be replacing head bolts, head gasket, primary cooling pump, aux cooling pump, valve cover, maybe catalytic converter, spec the head for warp and cracks, remove and clean valve seats, replace timing assembly, replace valve seals and guides……

think this will resolve the issue if the bottom end is good? I don’t have the funds to tear into the bottom end and start replacing bearings, rods, rings, etc unless it’s apparent the repair would be pointless otherwise.

what al should I be aware of with these applications? What I get for dropping $3k on a beater thinking I could just nurse it along.
