Hello, just bought a 2006 MINI Cooper S, Metallic Blue with White Stripes. I don't eve have it yet, it's still at the dealer, lol.

I'm writing this to ask if anyone knows of anything out of the ordinary that tends to go wrong/bad on these cars, something I should keep my eye on, since I'm just getting into MINIs. I'm an autobody tech, so I'm used to working on my own cars.

Also, if anyone knows THE company (or companies) to get good parts from, especially performance parts, please let me know. I'm sure this info is on this forum somewhere, so I'll be hunting as well.

hi. after i got my 2005 mini, my power steering went out. it turns out the fan that cools the pump goes, then the pump itself overheats and goes out. so, if you intermittently lose steering. check your fan asap. i have found lots of people who have had this problem.
