so after test driving both the VW rabbit and the base mini cooper, i think im going to go with the mini. it just kinda stands out a bid more, both had an excellent build quality, the VW was a few grand less and featured a few more standard features like cruise control, but the mini had more trick features like no key! how awkward yet cool. the sunroof was great, and is not available on the rabbit 2 door model. the engine in the mini wasnt as torquey as the VW, but it was more willing. the mini just struck me as a more "mature" car that had just a few more cool features whereas the VW felt great, but at the same time felt basic and bland. pretty soon ill be headed off to teh middle east, and with that money i save over there, im going to use it to pick up a 2007 mini cooper base, no more forced induction for me (i currently have a pt cruiser gt turbo), with the premium package, rear spoiler, and front driving lamps. i dont care what color it is so long as it has a white roof and mirror caps.

are there any performance parts for the base 1.6-liter and the suspension? i poked around and i was suprised to see how many performance parts there were for the previous gen n/a motor.
