My Mini milage 8 thousand miles on the clock has a drivers door which keeps locking me out everytime I close it, I have tried everything and I mean everything also yesterday the dash light started to fade in and out can anyone suggest an answer to these frustrating problem.thanks

 

if you keep the key fob away, would it lock you out if you just use the metal key to open the door?

 

Hi thanks for your reply.....it opens with the key and the alarm ges off. then if you close the door it is locked again.....it seems as if something is out of alignment in the handle triggger if that makes sense. Its lovely to be locked out in the snow and rain:!!!!

 

did you try to disconnect and reconnect the battery of the car to "reset" it.

 

HI No because that woulds upset everything else and everything in the car is working as it should..

 

I thnink it is mechanical rather than electrical as if I just push above the handle the door opens if I dont it stays locked!!!
