Hey guys! I figured I should join this forum to introduce my self. I just recently purchased my first Mini Cooper. I have an r52 2005 Mini Cooper convertible. I have loads of question! I recently bought the car off my cousin he has kept up with maintenance, etc. my first question would be, at what mileage does the the timing chain and water pump have to be done at?

Welcome to MINI Cooper Forums! Congratulations on your purchase. Glad to hear your cousin kept up on the maintenance as that is important. One often neglected area on the MINI is the cooling system. Did he do a coolant flush at all? For the water pump, typically you replace that when it shows signs of leakage. I do not believe there is a replacement schedule for the timing chain. People typically chain the chain and tensioner once they hear a noise. You can, however, change these components and do the water pump at the same time as a preventative maintenance measure.
