Looking for first mini

We are joining up to look for our first Mini. My better half knows exactly whats she wants, now we just need to find it! 2007+, S, Automatic, sunroofs, seat heaters, red or black. Not a hard list, eh!? I keep finding many good candidates but they are usually manuals. We are looking to drop about 15k on it.

I know a lot about cars, but not necessarily minis. I've built many turbo, non turbo and aircooled Euros and Jap cars. Been at it now for about 15 years, hobbyist.

THis is actually me. I tried to sign in with facebook but that registration process is glitched so I can never activate the above account.

WTF, why can I not see any posts in any area? Is my account locked? There is no info in the FAQ.

I was recently on the hunt like you are. I knew that I specifically wanted a 2007 or newer, white, and manual. I scoured all the sites: craigslist.org, cars.com, ebay.com, and many others I can't remember. It may take a while but I would keep tabs on all of them. The one I wanted popped up and I was lucky enough to snatch her up. On ebay you can setup a search with criteria and it will email you if one pops up. There are businesses out there that will ship to you, obviously ensure that the person you are buying from is reputable because that can be a big gamble. I purchased mine site unseen until after I won it on ebay and went to pick it up. It was a tense day or two until I saw and drove it.

You should really get the manual transmission. It's more fun to drive and blast to open it up on the freeway. Just a suggestion. Hope u guys find your Mini soon!

If it were for me, we'd be getting a manual! But it's going to be my better half's car so it has to be an Automatic. It is quite hard to find a nicer Auto car! We are expanding the search to include the All4 models now - so maybe we'll have a breakthrough.
