looking into getting a mini

I am from boise idaho and i was looking into getting a mini cooper and all the dealers say that you have to take it in to a mini dealer to get work done to it and to have it serviced? Is that true or are they just trying to get my money like any other dealer?

You don't HAVE to go to a dealer but you should at least go to a shop that is authorized to handle mini coopers and maintain them. Most cars are not dealer specific maintained but the mechanic should definitely be certified. They want your business and of course if they make you think you have no where else to go then they can start over charging you.
