I would love your help and insight.

I have been patiently looking out for 2008 S Convertibles, preferably sidewalk edition. Maybe JCW? If I could find it?
Manual.

I live in Ohio (inclement weather), am not a performance driver personally, but want to get a good model and year for the price and resale/collectability considerations if it ever becomes necessary. The mini seems to have everything I would like.

• Am I looking at the right year for a sweet spot?
• Should I consider a different mini?
• Should I be on the lookout for specific issues when buying used?
• What add ons should I hope for/avoid such as nav, cold weather pkg, tachometer special?
• S versus turbo among model years?

Price range around $15-18k. Would love under 60k miles.
Do all SE's come with HK sound?

Would be a summer only vehicle.

From what I've gathered so far from reading many different threads is the second gens seem to be the sweet spot for Mini's. I too am from Ohio. Cleveland area to be exact and plan to go with the Mini Cooper S hardtop 2nd Gen. THOUGH I've searched for a buyers guide and couldn't seem to find one. SO if anyone has a buyers guide please add a link.

 

The 08 convertibles a mixed bag ... Early in 08 they were first gen supercharged / Later in 08 they are the second gen turbo chasis I forget the cutoff month wise ...

harmon kardon was a package and can be on any mini
