I just got a call from my mechanic at MINI Cooper who said that my car needs a new “exchange clutch” (part: Exchange Clutch EMCD OEM 33107603859) because it was most likely towed inappropriately and that part is now damaged…the part cost $2018 (before fees/tax). The issue is- I just bought my mini cooper countryman a few months ago from THAT SAME DEALERSHIP- I have never had the car pushed or towed. IS there any other way the damage to the exchange clutch could have happened? I am still in shock. Anyone know of any other alternatives to fix this issue?
