I'm new to mini's, and thinking about picking up an S model that will be used mostly for track days. I'm not sure which years to avoid, and if I should go with the model that's turbo/blower.

Thanks for advise

Help!

I'm a new member, I just bought a Mini Cooper its a 05 model CVT tranny, it does have a EP light on, what does that mean and what is the fix? Can he dealer fix it or do I need a new transmission? Also them I'm at cruising speeds (50-60 mph) the engine is sitting around 3000 rpm is that too high or is it normal? I've never had a CVT transmission before. Please help.

Welcome to MINI Cooper Forums, Eric. You'll want to have the EP issue diagnosed properly before throwing parts at it and being concerned that it's the transmission itself. It could be a module that is faulty. With the proper tools they should be able to read what faults are in that system. If you do not have the proper diagnostic tools you may want to contact an Indy MINI shop. You can use this site here: Mini Cooper Repair Shops - Find a Mini Cooper Mechanic | MiniRepairShops. It will be cheaper than going to the dealer. If you need any parts help please let me know and good luck!
