First off, hello everyone. I am about to purchase my first Mini from a small dealer. It is an de-badged 2005 mini. However I had some questions regarding if it is an 'S'. Carfax doesnt say 'S', however it has a K&N intake, with specific instructions for the Mini, as if it came with it. Also, there is a cooler of some kind in the grill. Almost resembles an intercooler. However, from google, it looked like the intercooler on the S was up top by the scoop, also something I dont have. Its my first Cooper Ive driven, it was VERY peppy on the throttle. Im not sure if thats how the base is, but it seems like it wouldnt be that fast. It is still at the dealers till monday, getting a new windshield, and it was pretty dark, so I couldnt get the best view. Cant really see where that intercooler is going(man those engine compartments are packed to the max!) So maybe I'll get a better view Monday, as well as some pics. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Also, its an auto. So maybe auto transmission cooler?

Located in front of the main radiator.

The K&N "drop in" panel filter will need cleaned every once in a while. Or is it the small typhoon cold air intake?
