New member needs help with 2006 Mini Cooper S

Greeting Mini Lovers!!

I am the original and proud owner of a 2006 Mini Cooper S. As of late she has been under the weather. I was driving her home one evening and had trouble shifting. I could not get her into gear. After she cooled, I was able to shift. While I was less than 2 miles from home, I did not risk driving her that distance. I called a tow to my mechanic. To my dismay, he said my supercharger was kaput.

Friends have told me to let her go to the mini graveyard. I refuse. I would love to get her back in fighting shape and possibly start some customization.

I'm not sure what is involved in changing the supercharger or there is an opportunity to super her up a bit while doing it. Is there anything else I should replace while I am replacing the supercharger?

I'm open to recommendations. I'm not a car-head or an expert by any stretch of the imagination. But I have had a fair share of car problems in my lifetime. I'm learning as I go. Lol!!

Thanks for your help!!

Mini Pearl

Sorry about your Mini. I'm sure i'll have that problem in the near future as well. I've seen rebuilt superchargers on Ebay and i'm sure you can find them online as well. If you are going to mod her a bit the usual things to upgrade are air intake, exhaust, suspension, supercharger pulley and lightened crank pulley. That's to name a few. LoL! Good luck and Mini on!
