Hi, I bought a 2009 mini yesterday with 60,000 miles on it. Is it normal for the yellow engine light to glow while starting the vehicle? It goes off immediately after started.

That's okay, the engine light is supposed to come on when you're starting the car and should disappear after a few seconds.

 

Welcome to MINI Cooper Forums. I believe all lights should come on when starting/turning key on and immediately all shut off once started. Unless the vehicle is inhibiting some symptoms and the CEL is on solid, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Got any pictures?
