NEWBIE in Toronto... imported from US - Mini S

I just purchased a 2011 Mini Cooper S in the US and I'm bringing back to Canada. VERY EASILY got around BMW Canada's (illegal in my opinion) process of getting a recall letter from them to complete the import process.
