Questions from a new mini owner

Hello all,

I have been on this forum for a bit and there's so much information on here I'm getting a bit lost, so anyone feeling helpful and want to answer my questions would be much appreciated.

I recently purchased a 2009 MiniCooper S JCW Manual 6speed. I absolutely love this car and can't wait to tweak it. It already has an improved chip (no clue what that means really, previous owner did it) and an improved air filter and assembly I think made by K&N. There is a small oil leak in the turbo feed that I'm going to get fixed soon.

So the only other manual transmission Ive drivin was an old pickup truck thats obviously way different and that was a long time ago. So for anyone who knows or with a similar vehicle, what is the best shifting range rpm wise for either daily driving or performance? Ive been looking around and getting wildly different answers. Also, I know to rev match from riding motorcycles, but is there anything else i can do to give the clutch longer life and make the engine happy?

I cant think of any more questions off the top of my head, I probably will later when Im driving. Any tios or advice youd like to share especially as it pertains to my specific mini would be amazing.

thank you all very much
