Hello
Car. 2009 Mini Cooper S.
I have re-set the 'Vehicle Inspection' service warning, re-set to 07/2025 or 34000 miles (see Photo 1) .... but when I turn ignition back on the Inspection overdue light still comes on.
When I go back in to the service menu it shows the Vehicle Inspection symbol o.k. but does not allow the 're-set' option to be actioned (probably as it has just been re-set) ... but just a blank space where 'Re-set' option should be and no matter how much I press reset on end of indicator stalk ... nothing appears. (Photo 2)
Have the same issue with front brakes having just renewed pads and a fitted a new wear lead. Just won't give me the option to reset. See photo 3 ... shows 500 miles overdue?? No matter what I do, can't get the re-set option to come up.
I would add I have previously re-set oil service light without any problems, so I know the correct procedure.
Anyone know where I'm going wrong? Photo 1 Photo 3

It seems the reset isn't completing correctly. Try turning off the ignition, holding the trip reset button, and then turning the ignition on (without starting the engine) while still holding the button. Hold it until the service light resets. For the brake pad warning, make sure the wear lead is connected properly. If that doesn't work, use an OBD2 scanner to clear the code. If the issue persists, disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes and try again. If all else fails, you might need to consult a Mini dealership.
