Default Steering Column Windshield Switch

Long story short, the windshield wiper control switch broke from the steering column. I am looking for some insight for the best fix, obviously the cheapest fix. This is for a friend so I don't know all the vehicle details except that it is a 2008 mini.

I am attaching the picture of the exact style that is needed. They would rather not have to buy the entire unit as pictured, but only the switch itself if possible. And if it is possible to fix themself or they certified mechanic needs to remove the airbag and also the steering wheel.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

You have to buy the whole clock spring. Its called a Switch Unit / Wiper stalks and their are versions based off options.
