Default Stopping here first

Contemplating a Mini purchase. What I am looking for is a 10 to 12 Cooper base model 6 speed. I do a 40 mile commute to work and also hope to solo the car. It's been awhile since I have had a car along this line. I understand this is going to be more of a handful maintenance wise that similar cars of today. Will be looking for info on what to look for when purchasing along with what to expect when packing on some miles.

Hey RadDad56, welcome to the forum. You are correct. It will be a small handful maintenance wise. I would inspect the timing chain tensioner for sure. The rest would be the usual stuff. Good luck on your search.

Welcome! If you're DIY handy, might be able to save some money with repairs that way. We have some tech articles that can help with that as well.

I have purchased a Haynes manual for the car, but I have not yet test driven one. I plan to drive several before making a purchase. I have been wanting one for a long time.

Definitely let us know when you do make that purchase! And don't forget to post pictures when you do.
