Default Thinking of purchasing an 07 cooper s need some advice

Hi everyone, newbie to these forums.

I've been looking at getting a cooper s for awhile now, almost bought one when l lived in the UK, now l'm living in the states the price seems to have increased.

I want a mini in lightning blue, and manual really.

One's just come up at a dealership near me, which is in the lightning blue but auto transmission.

It has 11,639 miles on it, the upgraded leather seats at $2000 option, the sport pkg, sunroof, heated seats and the usual equipment.

They're asking $23,288 for it, and on the flow mini website l can get a 2009 model in the colour l want with manual transmission for $26k with the premium package and xenon headlights.

What price should l be paying for this 2007 model?

And is there much difference between the economy of the manual and auto?

Any things l need to watch out for on the 2007 model?

Thanks for your help in advance

mini's hold the value really well , I have a 3 year old one and was offered only $2000 less then what I paid new ... If you can afford the new one , I'd get it for the warranty and the 3 year maintenance free ... Manuals get about 3mpg/5mpg better then the auto's , on the 07 remember the warranty is close to being out (dependant on purchase date )
The automatic transmission can be HUGE $$$ to repair
