Got a flat tire.
 
Took it in and there was a huge screw inside the tire that had a hole the size of a nickel in it. Cost me a freakin fortune to replace too.

Nope. They're run-flats, so you can't just patch them up. You gotta replace the whole thing.

hmm..how odd..what make of tire is it? i had runflats on my car from the factory..and when i was a tech i repaired one...where is the hole?

They're Dunlop. The hole was huge though, so it would probably have been impossible to patch it up.

wow..that sucks..at least it didnt come apart and hrut the car....i have seen a tire come apart on a bmw that ripped the fender apart....[&o]

Ooooooo ouch. Yeah, luckily I wasn't far from home by the time it lost the majority of its air pressure.

I think it was a little over 200 for the whole job, and I'm guessing it is from the factory since they took it to a Mini dealership to do all the work.

Hi,
My Mini spent almost a week at the dealer after hitting a pothole. The rain we have had here in SoCal has opened some huge potholes about the size of a Mini[sm=jawdrop.gif]. I couldnt decide if I should go with one runflat for almost $300 or 4 new tires for $400:eek:. You gussed right 4 new tires nonrunflats. They handle a bit better, I think.
