RE: Is my 07 MCS a sports car?

Not technically I don't think. The insurance is pretty low if it is.

RE: abs light

Might be a wheel speed sensor, if you go to the dealership they can tell you exactly what's wrong with their diagnostic reader.

RE: Anti-freeze leak

Just a known defect in an O-Ring or something. There was no recall but if it leaks they usually won't even ask questions.

RE: Cruise control????

No servos, the throttle is already electrically controlled. Probably would need the wheel, the buttons, whatever steering wheel hub is needed for the electrical contacts, maybe some wiring in the...

RE: Cruise control????

Maybe, but I image it would be really expensive. If you don't get the multifunction steering wheel, then you don't have the buttons and the computer isn't for it.

RE: Dinan air intake

Just get the JCW intake. It's the same thing and comes with the plastic piece with a hole in it already.

RE: dustless brakes for JCW

This is completely wrong. The calipers and pads are different and not interchangeable.

RE: steering

It's the electric power steering pump. It's perfectly normal.

RE: POWER STEERING PUMP

It's overheating, the fan that blows on the motor is burned out or clogged.

RE: mini s power.

If you get an R53 (supercharged model) you can be at 300whp for probably 5g. The new turbo motor is not reliable with more than factory boost levels and is proving to be very hard to mod.

RE: 06 or 07?

If you increase the boost on the new engine it's very likely it'll pop. The supercharger is very reliable, they're designed to go 100,000+ miles.

RE: reliability

The new ones are rock-solid. It was mostly the transmissions in 02-04 Coopers that blew out. Other than that they all seem to be extremely reliable.

RE: Bolt Pattern on a 2006 Cooper

It's not as easy as just getting Honda wheels... you need width and offset to be reasonable too. All MINIs have the same stock offsets, widths and bolt patterns though so, you're fine.

RE: 06 or 07?

2006 was the last year for the supercharged ones. It's very hard to get extra power from the 07+ turbo engines.

And "a pulley" is in reference to a smaller supercharger pulley, to spin it...

RE: 06 or 07?

You can get an 07 which has more power, or get an 06 drop $600 on a pulley and tune and have more power than the 07. The 06 handles better as well.

RE: 2006 Mini "S" flawless exhaust!

Good luck, It's really hard to give these away. [8D] I took mine off at about 125 miles and still couldn't get rid of it.
