Exhaust help

I drive a 2012 base model mini Cooper and want to straight pipe it... What would be the best size pipe and will it mess up my motor life? And how much performance will I lose and gain

Powershift Aug 16, 2015 04:17 PM

Don't do it. Please. For our ears. Buy a full catback system for best scavenging and performance.

Yes I agree with Powershift. Though it may sound totally wicked at first, i'm sure that will get old real fast. Just save up and get a quality aftermarket exhaust system.

If you're wanting a quality exhaust system, we have a Remus sale going on right now that may be of interest to you. Can check it out here.

I'm curious as to what kind of exauhst might sound amazing...I'm all for sound and spitting so honestly how might straight piping benefit me in anyway?

I have a 2008 S and wanting to change exhaust. I listened to as many youtube videos demoing the available cat backs. My question is can I not just change just the muffler with a performance muffler (borla etc.) rather than replace all from the cat back. What is gained by the full cat back. I am mostly interested in a good sound than more performance.
