RE: need new runflats options?
Try to find someone with a Mini with regular performance tires and let her ride in it.
I did not want to spend 320. for one tire, and bought four Dunlop Sport Maxx. It is like another car. WAY better ride. |
RE: need new runflats options?
You could with a 205/55 or 205/50 without any serious effects. You might even be able to get a 215/50, but I'm not totally sure on 16" sizing.
And yeah, regular tires are sooo much nicer than run flats. Just buy her a can of tire sealer and a 12V compressor, and show her were the roadside number is.[8D] |
Thanks! You helped me make up my mind...
Had an oil change done recently and mechanic noted my run flats 205/45 R17 (OE 2006 tires on my 2006 MINI Coooper S)) were getting dry rot. Bought the MINI second hand in 2011 with 33 K original miles, and love the car. I only run it in the summer (have a Chevy Equinox AWD for winter months) and the MINI lives indoors in the winter.
You guys helped me make up my mind. I was worried about replacing with run-flats, but they are so f*cking expensive I was torn on deciding to replace with regular all-season radials.. Due to my lack of brain power, I never thought about just carrying a can of tire sealer and a good high capacity 12 volt compressor in case I got a flat on the road. But, thanks to you guys, I'm squared away and pricing regular tires. Thanks for your input!:D |
