hello... the offset is not the only issue you need to be concerned with when determining clearance or lack of. A +42 (or +45) yields a different backspace depending on the width of the wheel. a +42 (or +45) on an 8.5" wide wheel is different than a +42 (or +45) on a 8" or 7.5" or 7". So don't be fooled into thinking all you need to be concerned with is offset. The offset is the measurement from the center point of the wheel to the mounting pad of the wheel (the part that comes in contact with the rotor when bolted onto the car). that determines how much of the wheel is forward of teh rotor face and how much is behind the rotor face which determines what will clear and what will not. obviously if you have a 7" wide wheel with a +42 (or +45) the front and and rear measurements of the wheel will be different than if you have an 7.5, 8, or 8.5 wide wheel with the same offset. So a 7" with a +42 (or +45) may clear just fine but an 8.5" with the same offset may not. Read my response to "minidad" to his question about clearance of an 8.5" wide wheel with a +30 offset. It will explain in detail how to check for clearance or lack of. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!
