Broken motor mount?

Default Broken motor mount?
2005 R-52 base model

This is on the aluminum casting on the (US) driver's side.

Is this a motor mount? Do they break frequently?

What is involved with replacing it?

Oh wow! That is the supporting bracket for transmission mount - 22316779909. I'm getting 2 different part numbers, but if you can give me the last 6 digits of your vin I can confirm the correct part number.
