Roof (almost) opening, but not completely
My wife’s Mini had some major electrical problems a couple of years ago which we couldn’t completely solve, but it’s largely solved. However, there are some ****les left that I’d like to solve, one of which is the soft top.
I’ve seen in many searches that the most common problem is the roof not opening beyond the ‘sunroof’ option, but that’s not our problem; holding the button down lowers the windows and then the roof, but it’s as if it gets 99% of the way and stops, without lifting the windows back up and leaves a red light flashing on the button.
it closes no problem, it’s just that last little bit of lowering that’s a pain.
another ****le is the radio. CD and Aux are no problem but the radio now just hisses at us. I’ve tried swapping the aerial with mine (R55) but that makes no difference (although mine is DAB, would it be different?) and had the radio out to check the aerial connection and all seems well. Is the radio itself likely dead or is it likely to be the aerial and/or cable.
Damned car is just one problem after another.. grrrrr
