Default Service Engine Soon & EML Warning lights

Today I had my wife's '05 conertible in for service, Oil change, serpentine belt replacement, and air filters replacement. As I was driving home after the service dept was closed, the service engine soon came on 1st then the EML light came on. How serious can this be and how worried should I be? This vehicle has 95,000 miles on it.

The dealership states this is not the cause. It is just a coincidence. Could it be the new filters affect oxygen sensors or some wiring was knocked loose while installing the serpentine belt.

how? would air and oil filters effect O2 sensors measuring post-combustion gases?

Is the light still on? DId they tell you to ignore it?

They told me to get in in as soon as possible. It is using more fuel. I am thinking that the air filter was clogged enough that the Oxygen sensor had adjusted and now is faltering trying to get used to increased to the icreased air flow. It seems to run ok except for using more fuel. We will get it in next week to get it looked at.

I'd get it scanned at a parts store and see what they say before going back to the dealer to see what they say

I read that too fast I suppose I thought this was in reference to you new filter

if that is your theory try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes reset the ECU and go through a relearn? Just an Idea. I know my spyder fixes well but the new engine (to me) I am not so sure

I took to an auto store and here is what they gave me.
P0441 Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow
P1498 which the guy said his reader did not state what it was for.
Any clue or help to what this might be or what to do for either codes
Thanks, Mike
